The Polishing Process

The first step in the polishing process is to determine the hardness of the concrete by using a MOHS test kit.
Next you need to remove any floor coating and to repair any cracks or holes.
Densifiers are now used to solidify and densify the surface and to increase the protection against water penetration and dirt and oil soiling.
The concrete is now ready for polishing using ever increasing fineness of grits.
Once the required finish has been achieved the final stage is to apply a commercial stain guard to protect the floor before burnishing it for a last time to produce the ultimate shine.
